Lennoxtown Trail
- Keywords:
The trail starts at Lennoxtown Library. From here head east along the main road for 600m before turning right onto Chestnut Walk.
At the bridge over the Glazert Water, cross and turn right onto the Strathkelvin Railway footpath. The trail continues on this path following the Glazert Water and crosses under Station Road. Continue westwards towards Clachan of Campsie, forking left after passing under the next bridge towards Castle Circle. At the end of this path the trail crosses the water again at Newbridge and emerges on Glen Road.
At this point an optional route is to travel to Clachan of Campsie to join other walks & to visit the site of the Red Tub Tea Rooms.
After crossing the bridge, turn right & cross the road past the roundabout back towards Lennoxtown, travelling past Whitefield Terrace & Service Street, enter the parkland around Whitefield Pond. Follow the path northwards around the western edge of the pond and join Crosshill Street before entering Crow Road at the roundabout.
Follow Crow Road for a short distance before taking a right onto a footpath sign-posted towards Birbiston Road. Passing the golf course & High Park Cemetery, circle the playing fields and playpark emerging parallel to beech hedging between the cemetery at the High Kirk and the primary school. Then travel through the cemetery & past the High Kirk, emerging back onto the main road, ending the loop at the library.
