TW-04 War Memorial

Twechar Soldier

This memorial commemorates Twechar residents who died during the conflicts of WW1 and WW2.The war memorial is made of granite, in the form of a rough hewn celtic cross with an inverted sword at its centre. The memorial was unveiled to the community of the mining village by Captain William Buchanan, MC General Manager to Messrs William Baird & Company Ltd on Sunday 11th December 1920.
