About

We will explore heritage stories through music working with school and toddler groups. One way we will engage participants will be to have a real life family associated with each activity, a miner, mill worker, a weaver, boat builder, farmer and use each session to tell a story about a different aspect of their family life; work, transport, home/shops, school/play, recreation and holidays. We will explore these stories, creating musical sound scapes. The sound scapes produced will be incorporated into other projects, potentially as part of virtual trails and animations. We are using handling objects from the Museums Collection to enable children to form relationships with the stories, enabling a deeper learning jounrney.
Parent or guardian participation is key, either during the workshops or through a communitysharing.
