About

Who are the women who helped to build Scotland? How are they remembered? What about women in East Dunbartonshire? This partnership with Glasgow Women’s Library is enabling a series of friendly and informal events, including talks, discussion and hands on activities which give an introduction to Glasgow Women’s Library and some of the women’s heritage projects that are happening across Scotland, including the new interactive Women of Scotland website that maps monuments to women across Scotland. Working together we hope to uncover untold stories of women in East Dunbartonshire mapping their locations and achievements.

There will also be the opportunity for each town/village to map women histories local to their area and we will support volunteers to create their own virtual trail/ history walk. We have begun work with Westerton and Torrance, if you have an interest in Women’s history and walking outdoors please contact us and we can arrange an event in your area.
