Walking in Westerton

Fiona and I had our first guided walk for Trails and Tales this May with Westerton residents Kim, Emma and Marjory. The walk was around 45 minutes and took us past historical points of interest in Westerton, through the bluebell woods to see the wooden sculptures recently installed and along the canal. We talked about the community spirit of Westerton which is a rich part of the cultural heritage of the area, told through stories dating from the 1920’s to present day of families building the community together from physical buildings to community outdoor spaces. A fabulous walk and insight in the local history of Westerton, a beautiful little Oasis in Bearsden.
