Tuesday of this week saw a visit to the stone carving workshops being delivered by artist Lucinda Wilkinson at Kirkintilloch’s Marina. Lucinda has been working with a core group over the past few months introducing the group to a wide range of stone carving skills to allow individuals to develop their own ideas in carved sand stone. Some fantastic relief works are in progress and completed and some of the group are about to embark on 3-dimensional carving. There is a planned open day as part of this year’s canal festival where people can get the chance to come by the project site and see what’s happening as well as try their hand at carving.
