Parent & Child Activity: Design and Cast your own Artwork Marker

Alex is creating a number of artwork markers for Milngavie’s heritage trail which highlight local industry and the people who worked in these.

He calls these his Home series. Participants will design their own artwork marker by firstly creating their own replica plinth through casting techniques. Participants will be encouraged to choose rubber letters/ wording of a message personal to them and their local area, which will then be applied to a mould. Participants will then experience casting the plinths from these moulds and create a small sculpture to adorn them. Using research material gathered during the Trails and Tales project to inspire them, attendees will be encouraged to consider their town, and their own place in it, to create a work that reflects these themes. This workshop is an opportunity for parents & children to work together.

Suitable for age 10+. A parent must accompany a child & participate in the workshop.
