On Monday evening Esmee was invited by the Kirkintilloch Soroptomists – part of an amazing global organisation which exists for the benefit of women – to give a talk to members about Trails and Tales. The evening event in Lenzie was well attended with a really interested audience of women keen to listen to plans, developments and ask questions. After current President Melanie Brickley’s introduction, Esmee gave a great presentation, putting Trails and Tales into context, explaining how the project came about and grew from past heritage and art developments, leading to the current Heritage Lottery success for Trails and Tales. As well as helping set the context, the presentation highlighted the many artist-led projects being delivered, community consultations and developments underway, and how the Soroptomists might get involved in the project through participation in forthcoming meetings and events.
