Activity Reminisence, research
About

Join us for tea, coffee, biscuits and informal discussion on who are the local women of Torrance and East Dunbartonshire that you most remember and why? Where did they live and what did they do? How are they remembered? From the well known to unsung heroines, this friendly, social and informal event will include short talks, a fun women’s quiz, discussion and hands on activities to give you an introduction to Glasgow Women’s Library and some of the women’s heritage projects that are happening across Scotland, including the new interactive Women of Scotland website that maps monuments to women across Scotland.

This event is FREE and forms part of our ongoing work with Glasgow Women’s Library exploring remembered and forgotten stories about women who made an impact on society and individuals lives in East Dunbartonshire. We hope to work with groups across 11 towns and villages, with groups, producing a physical map of their areas, pin pointing local women’s stories and leading to an authority wide virtual map with some potential virtual trails, which create new heritage to share with others.
