About Trails and Tales

Trails and Tales is an arts and heritage learning programme which will engage artists with communities to explore their local history and heritage.
Each of the creative projects featured on this web site will generate research, conversations and creative responses to learning to inform the design and creation of a series of outdoors sculptural arts and heritage trails, across 11 local communities (towns and villages) in East Dunbartonshire.

From 2014 to 2017, Trails and Tales will work with 11 towns and villages across East Dunbartonshire: Auchinairn, Baldernock, Bearsden & Westerton, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Lennoxtown, Lenzie, Milngavie, Milton of Campsie, Torrance and Twechar.

These areas were identified and consulted with through a series of events in 2013. The information gathered informed external applications to funding bodies.

Trails and Tales is an East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust Programme and is kindly supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland and East Dunbartonshire Council. Trails and Tales is managed by the Cultural Coordinator for EDLC.
